MV Pippo
MV Pippo was built in 1976 in the Malta yard as a 18 meter unit with a concrete hull. It was initially a research vessel, and its new owner converted it into a fishing and transport boat. It was mainly used to support tuna farms. In October 2004, when returning from Comino with a cargo of fish, it began to take on water and sank. It rests upright on the sandy bottom at a depth of about 35 metres nearby Mellieha Bay. Despite its small size, it is a very interesting wreck. Very well preserved. Along with the equipment, it is an interesting photographic object. Big groupers, damselfish, as well as crabs and shrimp live there.
