MS Cominoland
Perhaps the most famous place for diving in Gozo, it is often the main reason for divers to visit this beautiful island. Xatt l-Ahmar is located in the south of the island, at the road connecting the port with the capital and three wonderful wrecks are the crowning point of this site.MS Cominoland is a minelayer built in 1942 for the Royal Navy with a hull length of almost 35 metres and a width of 8 metres. MS Cominoland was sunk in August 2006 as a tourist attraction and lies at a depth of about 40 metres and about 70 metres away from the shore.
The wreck is completely accessible to visitors, any dangerous elements have been removed from it, but I dissuade less experienced divers from swimming into places where you cannot see external light, e.g. on the deck. Given the depth at which the wrecks are situated, I suggest doing one wreck during the dive and returning to a nearby reef.
