Mgarr ix Xini

The key attraction of this site is the opportunity to meet underwater seahorses… Mgarr Ix-Xini, similarly to Xledi, is a very popular place among beginner divers and very pleasant for night dives. The dive site is not deep and under the water we can find really a lot of life: octopi, stingrays, snails, and a whole bunch of other creatures. However, do not forget about the key attraction of this site: the possibility of meeting seahorses underwater, which is often the purpose of diving for a very large group of fans of these creatures. We must remember that seahorses are very delicate creatures, they quickly get stressed and when stressed, they often die, so my dear photographers: WE DO NOT USE FLASH! Getting to this place is not easy, but I think that if you follow our guidelines, finding this beautiful bay should not be a problem. Nevertheless, we suggest that you take a good navigation or a local guide with you. During a trip to Mgarr Ix-Xini, as well as to most places in Gozo, remember that the roads are quite narrow, but they have lay-bys owing to which the cars can pass by. Another important piece of information is that we always let uphill-driving vehicles go first. During the summer there are some vacationing tourists, but we can always find a place to park.
