Cathedral Cave

Another magnificent dive site at the north of the island, nearby Marsalform. Here spreads characteristic for the north of Gozo lunar landscape, full of rocks chiselled by the wind and the water, and innumerable brine pools. We start the dive by swimming left. After a few minutes, we arrive to a cave entrance at 18 meters. The entrance is studded with big rocks and ascends rather steeply, at certain point reaching even 5 meters. We resurface at this point to see the roof of the cave with a small hole over the entrance, which channels fresh air and incredibly blue light inside. After a short break, we immerse again to relish the play of light. After leaving the cave we go forward, where the bottom drops to over 40 meters, then we turn right and, after a few minutes, arrive to the second cave, called Cave of Corn. We spend a moment here to see the old dam and spread rocks. We swim out of the cave and finish the dive. Minimum requirements: OWD certification.

Difficulty level from OWD
