Bristol Blenheim
Long distance bomber with a length of 8.6 metres and a wingspan of 17.7 metres. In 1941, five bombers of this type took off on a mission to Kefalonia in Greece. One of them had a gun failure in the turret and that is why it had to turn back to Malta. A defenceless bomber became an easy prey to an Italian fighter Macci 200. It landed on the water in the vicinity of Delimara in the east of Malta. It sank slowly and settled at a depth of 42 metres. The three-man crew was rescued. It lies on the sand and is well preserved. It is a very interesting object, especially for photographers. We’ll also meet many inhabitants of the deep waters there. A popular wreck which you must see while in Malta.
